16-08-2023 Loosed on Earth and in Heaven (NS)

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.”- Mt 18:18 As we reflect on this great grace that is the sacrament of Confession, we are considered anew this divine power conferred on the Apostles, that Jesus through His priests wishes for us to know of His love for us by forgiving us from our sins. And even though during confession as the words of Absolution are spoken, it sounds like the priest, it is really Jesus speaking those beautiful words through the priest. In this sacrament we come into His presence as we are gathered together in His Name.
