This was the #1 most listened to Old West" story I did for 1001 Heroes podcast. Mike Hurwitz gave th ok to use his Ballad of Tom Horn from his recordings. Tom Horn was a factor in Geronimo's surrender, and rode as a scout for Nelson and Miles. He was there when Ed Schiefflin gave Tombstone its name. He worked for the Pinkertons for awhile, his methods were considered too harsh, and then he signed on with the Cattlemen's Association to rid the country of rustlers. Years back his dream had been to have his own ranch and get married- but a gang of cattle rustlers stole all his cattle and burned down his ranch when he was away ion business- after that he swore vengeance against all of them- anywhere. He wrote his autobiography while in jail awaiting his changing for the killing of a young boy which he swore he didn't do. I share some of it in this story. Learn more about your ad choices.
