Entering at the tail end of the NWOBHM, Algy Ward and his Tank outfit made a rumbling racket with the oustanding Filth Hounds of Hades debut. One of the best albums of the whole NWOBHM she-bang it says here, this was a tough record that was pushing Motorhead levels of intensity and sonics. The sophomore Power of the Hunter is praised in many a punter's circle, but I always saw this is a huge disappointment, the song writing watered down and production weak compared to the debut. The British unit changed tack on This Means War in 1983, taking a more traditional metal stance with war infatuated lyrics. Definately an improvement over the previous release. They followed that up a year later with the similarly themed and musically equivalent Honour and Blood, an album in my lonely opinion I perceive was even better than its predecessor. Regardless, let's celebrate the first four years of the legendary Tank with a 40 minute playlist of its best material during their heyday. Get ready for the shellshock!!!
