This episode means so to me. But before you hit play, do yourself a favor—grab a box of tissues, because I cannot keep it together. Today, February 21st, is my best friend Shannon’s birthday. She should be here celebrating, but instead, I’m honoring her memory. Shannon passed away at just 28 years old due to alcohol addiction, which led to acute kidney and liver failure. Losing her changed me forever. In this episode, I take you through the journey of our friendship—the laughter, the love, and the moments that still make me smile. But I also open up about the guilt I carry, the what-ifs that haunt me, and the things I would give anything to change. I miss her every single day, and if I had known that our last phone call would truly be the last, I would have said so much more. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, please know you’re not alone.
