With that in mind, welcome to episode thirty, which is with the hugely talented Neil Shah, a former investment banker, now Senior Business Development Director, Tech Sector Specialist at the London Stock Exchange (LSEG). After successfully completing his BSC in Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science. Neil worked as an investment banker for more than 15 years focused on the technology sector. He started his career in the Tech team at Dresdner Kleinwort in 2004 and joined Thomas Weisel Partners (TWP) in 2009 where he co-founded their European Technology investment banking franchise. TWP was acquired by Stifel in 2010 and Neil stayed on to help build Stifel’s global tech business for the next decade helping founders and venture & PE-backed businesses execute cross-border M&A and raise capital through IPOs and FOs across multiple markets. Neil joined the LSEG in July 2020, tasked to lead London Stock Exchange’ business development in the tech sector, by nurturing high quality innovative technology companies as their Senior Business Development Director, Tech Sector Specialist. In this Investing Matters interview, Neil gives a brief overview of the role the London Stock Exchange plays in the Initial Public Offering /listings of companies. His important role as Senior Business Development Director with a tech sector specialism. He conveys the support given to Founders/Leaders/CEO’s and companies before, during and post their listing process, some of the differences of FTSE Main listing verse AIM listing. He explains the “Rule of 40 and why it is important”.
