A channel of encouragement

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called ‘Today,’ so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Today’s Scripture indeed encourages us to encourage one another daily. We can’t get enough of that, can we? We need it because so much of our lives is outside of our control. We are at the mercy of God as He works out His will in our lives. We have learned already from the Spirit in chapter 2, verse 8 that even though God has subjected all things under our feet and under Jesus’ feet, we do not yet see all things subjected to Him and to us. The moment “all things” happen and we fix our eyes on the circumstances, that’s the moment we need encouragement. Otherwise, we can easily obsess, ruminate, and rehearse the circumstances in our minds. Later in Heb. 12, the Spirit tells us about this sin of unbelief. He says it “easily entangles us.” Isn’t that the truth! When we are entangled in unbelief, our hearts harden. Unbelief deceives us. It tells us the lie that God isn’t living and active, that He doesn’t love us or these things wouldn’t happen the way they did, and/or that God must be angry with us. None of that is true! Can you see why we need to encourage one another everyday? That’s one of the reasons I was moved to produce the live to love with Jesus scripture encouragements podcast on a daily basis. I’m seeking to obey God’s word in a practical way. When I encourage you, I receive encouragement as well. I need to hear the truth as much as anyone. I hope you’ll team up with me and share the Live to Love Scripture Encouragement podcast with others. Each day, you could share it with a different friend than you did the day before. You might go through your contact list. Or perhaps you can share it with your friends on your social media platforms. You could encourage other listeners by commenting on our social media platforms as well about how the Holy Spirit encouraged you through the podcast. God will put people in your path today who need to be encouraged that Jesus lives, is active in the affairs of their lives, and offers grace and mercy in their trials if they will only believe and draw near to Him. Be on the lookout for those who seem discouraged, overwhelmed, and hurting. Today, they are in a battle with deception that comes from unbelief. Their hearts need encouragement, and Jesus wants to love them through you. You can be a channel of encouragement today.
