A Letter From The Board

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

To all the Elijah Ministry Family, Greetings from South Africa! First, on behalf of the Board of Directors of Elijah Ministries I am writing to thank you for your partnership over the years with EM. You would think that as Norm is moving through his early 70’s that he might begin to slow down a bit and dial back some of his ministry opportunities, but I assure you that is NOT the case. If anything, 2024 has been busier than ever. In recent weeks Norm has traveled to Brazil, Columbia (the country), Romania and South Africa. While his travel within the U.S. is usually covered by the host groups, his travel outside the U.S. is carried by the ministry. But because Norm is experiencing God’s grace so powerfully in these places, more and more opportunities continue to appear. Now he must pray through which ones he can accept, always keeping in mind his duties to his family at home as well. This has been a very fruitful year for Norm and Elijah Ministries. He continues to do Equipping Men retreats, homeschool conferences, father/son events, and church conferences along with his numerous ongoing Live to Love Adventure discipleship groups. Last year Norm invited me to join him in South Africa for a debriefing week with the Global Challenge Expedition team. He had trained them in February in preparation a one-year journey of ministry and travel. We listened to their stories for a week while also engaging with the mother organization, Global Challenge. While here I discovered some opportunities that fit my wife’s and my abilities and callings, so we decided to come back for a month in June and are now here for another 5 months. God continues to open up avenues of ministry here in South Africa that I want to invite you to consider supporting financially. This is fertile ground for the gospel and such a great place to invest in the kingdom in a way that truly maximizes the impact of our resources. We are partnering with Global Leadership Academy, a K-12 private school, which has a scholarship program for poverty-stricken students from the black township. Through the Live to Love message and his mentorship, Norm has helped ground the school staff and the Global community in living to love with Jesus. (You can give here is you wish to sponsor a student). We give God glory for how God works through Norm’s life and ministry here in South Africa. We on the board of directors thank you for your past support. We would be remiss not to ask that you prayerfully consider including Elijah Ministries in your year-end giving plans and for 2025 as well. We are seeing new and exciting opportunities opening around the world in Ukraine, Romania, Brazil, and Vietnam. We want to be able to answer the call when it comes, as the Lord directs. You may give here or send a check to the address below. Please pray for Norm and the ministry as we move into a new year, and Merry Christmas to you and your families. John Gross, President, The Spirit of Elijah Ministries International Board of Directors
