Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

Romans 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, If we are going to live to love with Jesus, we must walk in the freedom He has purchased at the cross and in union with His life dwelling in our bodies. We are not to believe the lie that we cannot love like Jesus loves. We must not think like we normally think, being led astray by the sinful lusts and desires associated with living in our mortal bodies in this world. Why? Because we died to sin when Jesus died. We consider ourselves alive to God. What an encouragement it is to know who I am in Christ. One of the biggest transformations of life is that even though I may strongly feel the weaknesses and desires of my mortal body, that’s not who I am any more. I am not a slave of sin because Jesus set me from from its power. I declare today and everyday that sin shall not reign in my body. I do not have to obey any sinful feeling or lust that I experience. This declaration rises from the truth of my union with Jesus Christ and is vital to my walking in love with Him. Please join me in this declaration today as you are encouraged by Rom. 6:12. “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts.” Say “No.” to the sinful lusts that wage war against the members of your body. There is a war raging as long as we are in this world. Paul, James, and Peter all wrote about it. Listen and be encouraged by them. Romans 7:23 but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. James 4:1 What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 1 Peter 2:11 Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. So remember, not every thought or feeling you have is worth listening to or obeying. You are alive with Christ. Don’t let sin reign in your body. Draw your life, your satisfaction, your thoughts and feelings from Jesus. The Scriptures have clearly told us how He thinks and feels. We know He finds satisfaction in the love of His Father. So can you for Jesus is alive to God in you. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
