Enlightened but ignorant

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. Jesus made the world—everything we see in nature and the heavens was made through Him. This must be important to John since he repeats this historical reality. In verse 3, John wrote, “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” Pause with me, please, and consider the wisdom and power of Jesus to bring us and everything around us into existence. We live in His world. Let’s think about that for a moment. Now, let’s consider that the One through whom this world was made came into His world. Why has He done that? John wrote these words years after Jesus’ earthly life, but it is a testimony of an eye witness to this historical event. John wrote in his first epistle, What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life — and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us — what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also. John tells us in today’s verse that the world, not meaning the inanimate things or the animals, but the people in the world, did not know Him. This should amaze us. It shows us the power of the original sin. Although every man is enlightened by His light, His light reveals that every man is ignorant of his maker. Nature is enough for man to know that there is a God He ought to thank for His life, but nature is not enough for man to know His maker. If you know Jesus personally and walk with Him daily, then you do so by the grace and power of God. Sin’s power has been broken within you and over you. You have been loved by God. I invite you to become a partner in our ministry. Would you pray about becoming a regular supporter of Elijah Ministries and the Live to Love with Jesus ministry? I hope you will receive the joy and benefit of “giving it forward,” so others may be encouraged to turn their hearts to God and live to love with Jesus.
