Romans 16:25-26 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; When Paul referred to the “revelation of the mystery” of God, he was referring to God’s plan to include the Gentiles in God’s promise to Abraham. Here’s how Paul described his ministry to the Ephesians. Ephesians 3:1-6 “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles — Ephesians 3:2 if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace which was given to me for you; Ephesians 3:3 that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief. Ephesians 3:4 By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, Ephesians 3:5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; Ephesians 3:6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, With the Romans, we receive this incredible encouragement from the gospel—through the Scriptures we have received perseverance and encouragement—to live to love with Jesus for the glory of God. Through the gospel we learn that we are loved by God, chosen from the beginning by Him, that we might be established—that we might be made to stand fast—in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul started this verse with “Now to Him who…” Let us be encouraged today to join the apostle Paul in sounding forth this tribute to God who has saved us through the gospel. He has justified us in Christ, through whom we have received our introduction by faith into the grace in which we stand (Rom. 5:1-2). We need to do this NOW! Having received the gospel, Paul called the Romans not to delay in giving God glory. As he concluded his letter, he led them to do what every recipient of grace from God through Jesus Christ should do upon the realization of what God has done for them—give God glory. We’ll focus on the glory of God tomorrow. Today, I encourage you to think back over all the encouragement you have received as we’ve gone through the book of Romans in the Live to Love Scripture Encouragements podcast. Consider all that God has done to establish you, to make you stand and love out of that place of grace. I encourage you today to worship God and pay tribute to Him for He predestined, called, justified, and glorified you in Christ. He is worthy of our daily obedience, praise, adoration, and thanksgiving.
