God made the world through Jesus

Heb. 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. There’s a basic principle. The one who establishes a corporation has the right to establish the purpose and the vision of the business. We wouldn’t even question his authority or jurisdiction because he created it. That same principle applies to Jesus, the creator of the world. His word carries authority. We’re going to see in the next verse that Jesus’ word upholds everything He’s created. Isaiah wrote in 40:8. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” The purpose of all creation is to glorify God. Our purpose, according to the Westminster Confession is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. I’m not sure who upgraded that answer, but it’s worth considering. We are to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. We are to find our deepest satisfaction in Jesus, our creator. Jesus came to earth, died for our sins, was buried and raised to life, ascended into heaven, so He could be our greatest satisfaction in life. We have Jesus’ life. He is totally satisfied in the love of His Father. That satisfaction dwells in all those who are His. If we are to live to love with Him, our starting point each day must be abiding in Jesus’ fullness, contentment, and satisfaction in the Father’s love and will. Out of His fullness, we have received grace upon grace to love, wrote John in his gospel. The foundation of living to love with Jesus is that He is the creator of the universe, the heavens and earth, and our very souls as well as those who walk into our paths each day. They are His. It is our duty, privilege, and joy to love Him by loving them with Him. God made the world through Jesus, and we love through Jesus.
