God’s wonderful surprises.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

Romans 10:20 And Isaiah is very bold and says, “I was found by those who did not seek Me, I became manifest to those who did not ask for Me.” Today’s live to love scripture encouragement comes from Rom. 10:20. Paul had been showing his readers in Rome that God’s inclusion of Gentiles as recipients of His free gift of righteousness in Christ had been predicted by Israel’s prophets. First he reminded them of Moses and then mentioned Isaiah. Surely this was shocking to the Jewish community in Rome, but it should have been astounding to the Gentile believers. And it should also be to us. Before Christ came, no one other than the Jews sought after God. The Gentile world was lost and without hope. But when Jesus came, with one righteous act, as Paul described it in Rom. 5, he justified the many from both Jews and Gentiles, and opened the door of heaven to a people who were not seeking Him nor asking for Him. This means God surprises people with His grace. He may want to surprise them through you and me as we live to love with Jesus. We pray for God to put them in our paths so Jesus can love them through us, so He can reach out to them as He gives us opportunities. First, recognize that we are miracles, testimonies, and the fulfillment of this verse. Second, we should be on the lookout for God to surprise more of His children as we love and share Christ with them. We shouldn’t be surprised that God can do this. In fact, we should expect it because of this verse. Who else would God use to manifest Himself through but those who are intentionally living to love with Him? So be ready and filled with His love today. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
