Hebrews 9:11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; The closest the high priest could get to God was to touch His shadow. That’s what the Holy of Holies was—a shadow of good things to come—a copy of something Moses saw on the mountain. But Jesus came, died for our sins once for all, and then entered into the very presence of our God and Father. Jesus was sent to be our high priest because God loves us. He was received into the Holy of Holies in heaven because God loves us. There is no higher place that Jesus could have gone to accomplish our salvation than the greater and more perfect tabernacle in heaven. He has standing with God that no one else has, and He has brought us to God through His righteousness. No other human high priest had such standing, which was the fault of the first covenant. But now Christ has appeared. He has come. He has suffered. He has risen and ascended on high, and to let us know the covenant has been sealed and made perfect, the Holy Spirit has been poured out in the hearts of those who believe. He cleanses our hearts by faith and then makes us receptacles and retainers of His love. From the moment that the Holy Spirit was given, God’s love poured into this world like a tsunami—overpowering sin, death, the devil, and this world. The torrent of His love is still sweeping through history and mankind through God’s children. We live to be channels of Jesus’ love. That’s why the Holy Spirit was sent. Jesus is in God, the Father. You are in Jesus, and He is in you. Such is the life of a true Christian.
