Live out of the fullness of God’s love in Christ.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

Romans 10:5 For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness. In the previous verse, Paul told the Romans that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness for those who believe. His Scriptural support for that statement came from something Moses wrote in Leviticus 18:5 “So you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, by which a man may live if he does them; I am the LORD.” Paul wrote that God has said that there was no end or completion of the law of righteousness for those who live by the law. To “live” by the Law means to perform all of the Ten Commandments, all the time, until the day you die without breaking even one. To break one, is to break them all according to James. The Law says that it is you, without help or strength that has to do all of the laws of God. That’s what the law of righteousness speaks to every person alive. Can you feel and see the hopelessness of being saved and to stand blameless before God based on what the Law speaks to you? But Jesus brought the law to an end by fulfilling all that the Scriptures required. John wrote in chapter 19 of his gospel. John 19:28-30. “After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, “I am thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth. Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” Jesus used a form of the same word Paul used in the previous verse when He said, “It is finished.” He had performed a perfect righteousness for His people. All who believe in Him are dressed in His robe of righteousness and stand before God righteous in His sight. We’re told in Hebrews that Jesus loves righteousness. He loves us. It is out of this steadfast, unchangeable love that we live. And there is no end to His love—nor ours for that matter. We have been saved to live to love with Jesus. Is that your purpose in life? Have you surrendered yourself to Jesus to be an expression of His life? I hope and pray that today, you’ll live out of the fullness of God’s love in Christ.
