Move, kick, and tumble in love with Jesus

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. In the previous verses of Rom. 8 and in today’s verse, Paul introduced the power of hope that God desired to be instilled in the creation through subjecting it to slavery to corruption when Adam sinned. We learn in this verse that the whole creation groans like a mother in labor groans. It groans because it suffers the pains necessary for the great revealing of the glory of the sons of God. It is as if the sons of God have been growing within the womb of creation. This is a wonderful picture of what is actually happening today. This age in history, since Jesus came to earth, is the stage when the body of Christ is being developed like a baby develops within the womb. We are still in utero, so to speak. But from the moment the Seed was implanted into the womb of creation, all creation knew it was pregnant with the Son of God. In God’s perfect timing the body of Christ, the sons of God, will be revealed. The love of Christ knits each cell with the others as the body grows. Living to love with Jesus, each one using the gifts given by the Spirit of God, builds “up the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:12-13). We are a part of a new person to be revealed at the end of the age—the glory of the Son of God. All creation will see the fruit of its labor, and for now, our presence is causing pain and suffering, but it is suffering that has hope with it, just like an expectant mother experiences. Can you see what’s happening from God’s and all creation’s perspective as you live today with Jesus? Christ is being developed in you and everyone of the brothers and sisters with whom God has placed you in utero. So give creation a thrill of hope and move, kick, and tumble in love with Jesus.
