The most powerful and authoritative testimony for Christ

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. What a clear statement we have about the antichrist. Antichrist is anyone who denies that Jesus is the true Christ, the One sent to this earth into the history of mankind by the Father to make propitiation for sin. To deny that Jesus is the Christ is to deny both the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Such a person is a liar because the truth is that Jesus is the Christ sent by the Father. How does this encourage us who are committed to living to love with Jesus? We are not liars, but speak the truth in love—not only by our words and confession but through our actions. The very fact that Jesus loves through us testifies to the reality that He is the Christ. His loving through us reveals the work of the Father and the Son. In John 14, Jesus told His disciples that the Father was working in Him (vs. 10) and that He and the Father would make their abode in the one who loves Him and keeps His word (vs. 23). That’s exactly what those who long to glorify God by living to love with Jesus believe and experience. As John said in 1 Jo. 1:3, those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Word of Life, manifested in the flesh, have fellowship with the Father and the Son. Those who live to love with Jesus and who have fellowship with the Father and the Son would never, could never, make the denials that the liars do. Let us realize today that living to love with Jesus is the most powerful and authoritative testimony that one can present to the world. It overcomes the world as Jesus is lifted up. He said that if He is lifted up, God will draw men from every tribe, tongue, and nation to Him, making Him a promise-keeping God. In God we trust as we live to love with Jesus.
