The True Light Shines

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

John 1:9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. First, we see that Jesus is the true Light. The implication is that there are other so-called lights, but they are not true. They are not the real Light. I’m reminded of 2 Corinthians 11:14, “No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” Let’s not be deceived by those who say they have a progressive idea of Jesus that is more updated for our time. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He’s the true Light. Second, Jesus has come into the world to bring light to us. Without Him, we have no light. Do you need light for your path? Of course you do. I encourage you today that Jesus is the only true light in the world. If you want to know what is right, look to Him. If you want to know how to love, look to Him. If you need wisdom, He is wisdom. Whatever you need to live to love each day, He is the way. That’s why I say it so often: “Live to love with Jesus.” Jesus came into the world to bring us light. Third, consider the scope of His light. It enlightens or illumines every man. I think the Spirit is saying that Jesus shows what every man is like. “There’s nothing hidden from the eyes of Him with whom we have to do,” writes the author of Hebrews in 4:13. It also could mean what Paul taught in Romans 1:18-21. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Every man has enough light to know God and to know themselves. He is their maker, and they are His creatures. They ought to receive His light and walk in it, but they don’t. His presence, the presence of His True Light, enlightens every man to know he is a creature and not the creator. The next verse tells us more about the world’s response to His light, so we’ll wait til tomorrow to learn more. So today, let us be encouraged that Jesus is the True Light who has brought light into this world, and if you have seen who you are as God’s creature and in need of a Savior, then His Light has illumined you. To God be the glory. May we all walk in His Light, which is love, with Jesus. I invite you to become a partner in our ministry. Would you pray about becoming a regular supporter of Elijah Ministries and the Live to Love with Jesus ministry? I hope you will receive the joy and benefit of “giving it forward,” so others may be encouraged to turn their hearts to God and live to love with Jesus.
