What do you think of yourself?

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - Een podcast door Norm Wakefield

Romans 6:11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Today’s encouragement from Rom. 6:11 raises a question. What do you think about yourself? Do you consider yourself dead to all the natural feelings and thoughts you have that have been influenced by your experiences and the philosophies of this world? Do you consider yourself alive, tuned into, receptive and controlled by the feelings, thoughts, and influences of the Holy Spirit? I hope so! That’s what it is to be a Christian, to believe in Jesus, to believe that you were crucified and raised with Christ. Shall we continue in sin that grace might increase? May it never be! We are dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. What does it mean to be alive to God? I’m sure the answer to that question isn’t quite as simple as I’m going to make it. But if God is love, which He is, wrote John. 1 Jo. 4:8. For God is love. Then to be alive to God is to give Jesus access to every faculty and body member that you possess for the purpose of loving whoever He puts in your path in this world. If God is love, then if you are alive to God, you will be a channel of His love. So, I encourage you today to consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus—live your life to love with Him. Join the adventure.
