Feeder cattle futures also rose, with January contracts gaining ninety cents to three hundred forty-six dollars and fifty cents. Cash trade softened, with live cattle prices at two hundred twenty-eight to two hundred twenty-nine dollars and dressed at three hundred fifty-six to three hundred fifty-eight dollars. Export sales showed strength, with eleven thousand four hundred three metric tons of beef sold. Boxed beef prices rose, narrowing the Choice over Select spread.
