Minimalist Mom Spotlight: Jeannette Cleveland

Minimalist Moms - Een podcast door Diane Boden

A new series focused on ‘real’ minimalist moms: It’s odd to refer to this series that way but I wanted to encourage the everyday mom that you don’t have to go to extremes (or have a giant platform) to influence minimalism to those around you.About Jeanette:Jeannette Cleveland is a Christian, a wife and a stay-at-home mama of 3 small children ages 4, 2, and 10 months. Before having kids, she taught math at a public high school in Durham, North Carolina. She enjoys reading about simple living, counseling others on personal finance through her church, and hosting people in her home.Jeannette began pursuing a minimalist lifestyle about 4 years ago after the birth of her first child. A few months into the journey her life was dramatically altered when her little brother passed away of an opioid overdose at the age of 24. Minimalism has been a helpful tool for her as she has navigated grief and processed physical & emotional baggage in the wake of his death.Pursuing a minimalist lifestyle has helped keep her home, budget, and life from being filled to the max with trivial stuff so she can focus on what matters most to her: loving others. She views the greatest gift of minimalism to be how it frees up space and resources so one can be more generous and more hospitable with less stress.Discussed in this episode:Online Minimalist Party Shop: Simply LiftedBook: The Lazy Genius Way by Kendra AdachiBook: The Art of Happy Moving by Ali WenzkeLet’s keep the conversation going on Facebook or Instagram! And, don’t forget to leave a rating or review on iTunes.
