WA launches Stolen Generations redress scheme

Radio National Breakfast — Separate stories podcast - Een podcast door ABC listen

Members of Stolen Generations say a new scheme will help deal with the 'evils' of forced child removals, as Western Australia becomes the latest state to offer payment to survivors. Aboriginal people taken from their families before the early 1970s will be eligible for an $85,000 payment, leaving Queensland as the last state without such a scheme. Guest: Roger Cook, Premier of Western Australia. Producer: Max Chalmers
