Stordalen has also been the leader of several interdisciplinary projects and research groups, and his efforts within the OTSEM network, which brings together 150 researchers at 17 universities, have been crucial for the network’s development. Stordalen has been a recurring guest at the Faculty of Theology in Lund for many years. Over the years, he has inspired and enabled many exchanges between Lund University and the University of Oslo, and has also been a good critical friend in connection with quality reviews and research evaluations at the faculty. “Terje Stordalen’s contributions to Old Testament research are significant,” says the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Professor Stephan Borgehammar. “His research, his collaboration with colleagues in Lund, and his constructive commitment to the development of the Faculty of Theology, we want to acknowledge with this honorary doctorate.” Stordalen received his award at the doctoral promotion in Lund on May 31, 2024 and held the lecture "Biblical Narrative in a Century of Newspapers" on May 30th.
