#23 / Fr Dwight Longenecker on immortal combat, spiritual warfare & the invisible world.

Spirit Box - Een podcast door Darragh Mason

As you know the point of this podcast is to look at all sides of the puzzle of non-physical non human intelligences, this week we’ll be looking at things from a Catholic perspective. To that end our next guest, Fr. Dwight Longenecker talks to the Catholic concept of Spiritual warfare detailed in his book Immortal Combat - Confronting the Heart of Darkness Brought up as an Evangelical in the USA, Fr. Dwight Longenecker earned a degree in Speech and English before studying theology at Oxford University. He served as a minister in the Church of England, and in 1995 was received into the Catholic Church with his wife and family. The author of over twenty books and booklets on Catholic faith and culture, Fr Longenecker is also an award winning blogger, podcaster and journalist. He is pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Fr Longenecker maps out how Catholicism changed to a more ‘love and light’ position and in doing so lost its awareness of actual evil forces. We discuss the danger of pretending evil doesn’t exist and his personal experience with exorcisms. There are some sections I’ve bleeped out to remove names and location of those involved in the exorcism.
