RULE OF TWO IRL - Today we bring you Part 1 of our 4 Part interview with Roger Christian. Roger Christian won an Academy Award for Art Direction on Star Wars Episode IV as well as an Oscar nomination for his work in Alien. He has also directed the second units on both Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace. Roger is also the author of the in depth book: Cinema Alchemist : Designing Star Wars And Alien. This is very exciting. We have the creator of the Lightsaber himself. We start off our interview with Roger discussing how he became attached to Star Wars. Roger gives us the history of building Luke and Vader’s lightsabers and the interesting facts behind building Luke’s binoculars.
