Human remains discovered last week in Pueblo, Colorado, have been identified as those of 58-year-old Maria ‘Mary’ Cuevas-Garcia, whose torso was found inside a suitcase in October 2019. Cuevas’ 36-year-old son, Anthony Cuevas, has been charged with her murder. Law enforcement in Florida announced the discovery of the remains of 9-year-old Diana Alvarez, who has been missing since May 2016. The suspect in her disappearance, Jose Torres, was indicted for her kidnapping, molestation and first degree murder in 2018, and his trial is still pending. Finally, In California, a jury found former Navy sailor, Matthew Sullivan, guilty of the 2014 murder of his wife, Elizabeth Sullivan, whose body was discovered in San Diego Bay in 2016. The prosecution argued that Sullivan kept his wife’s body in a freezer for two years, and disposed of it in the bay when he moved to the east coast.
