Many miracles happened in Capernaum, a place with a significant name. 46:03 – Jesus leaves Capernaum to “build the kingdom of God.” The kingdom of God can be seen as present or future, depending on the context. 53:48 – Simon Peter is astonished by the miraculous catch of fish. Simon, James, and John forsake everything to follow Jesus and become fishers of men. 57:14 – Jesus heals the man full of leprosy. The Savior can and will perform miracles for us too. 1:03:17 – Jesus charged the leper who was healed to tell no man, but to go to his priest and be cleansed. Jesus refers to himself as “The Son of Man” (Luke 5.24). 1:11:14 – Jesus is more than a great moral teacher or a good man. He is who he claimed to be, The Son of God. 1:14:05 – Levi (Matthew), a tax collector, is called to follow Jesus. Matthew feeds Jesus in his home and some of the Pharisees are angry because they expect Jesus to follow their strict fasting rules.
