Q & A - Where is the Edge of the Solar System?
The 365 Days of Astronomy - Een podcast door 365DaysOfAstronomy.org
Written & hosted by our Program Director, Avivah Yamani. Where is the edge of our Solar System? Or better yet, let's say where is the outermost boundary of the Solar System? If it’s a town or a country, then even though we can’t really see the edge of it, we do know where the border is. But in the Solar System, we need to define the boundary. So the solar system extends as far as the influence of the Sun. That could mean the influence of the Sun's light, or the influence of the Sun's gravity, or the influence of the Sun's magnetic field and solar wind.
