The God Shot: Acts 2:24

"But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him." (Acts 2:24)In this section of scripture, Peter is addressing the locals of Jerusalem who had crucified Jesus just seven weeks earlier. They did not understand the message of Jesus or what happened to Him. So here, Peter is explaining it to them. After Jesus died on the cross, God raised Him from the dead, proving His power over death and the grave. Death is not stronger than God and that's our great hope because all of us who are in Christ will die too. We will also be raised likewise by the power of God. Death doesn't have the final word. Jesus does! And He's where the joy is!
