The God Shot: John 1:18

"No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known." (John 1:18)Renaissance paintings give us the idea that God is an old white man with even whiter hair. But God, the Father is a Spirit. He has no physical body to speak of. This is hard for us to imagine since we're bound to the physical realm and it's one of the reasons pagan worship often revolves around idols is that they want something they can see and touch. The Father knows our struggle in this area, and it's one of the reasons He sent his son down to Earth to live and walk among us. Jesus is the exact imprint of the Father's nature. He is the image of the invisible God. If you have a hard time reading about or trusting God as your Father, if you steer clear of the Old Testament, maybe it will comfort you to know that his personality and purposes are fully aligned with Jesus. He understands you, He loves you, and He is where the joy is!
