While teaching at Muhlenberg College, Maura Finkelstein made no secret of her support for Palestinian liberation. Even before receiving tenure, Finkelstein taught courses on Palestine and made her views publicly known. Then, in May of 2024, she was unceremoniously fired for sharing pro-Palestine content on her personal social media account.
