Happy International Women’s Day

Let’s jam on this public holiday Monday here in the land of Vic! The Coffee Run 554 On today's The Coffee Run we jammed on how damn great we are at putting everyone else first. Our clients, our kids, our fur babies, our partners, our clients, our plants and pretty much most things. And often, at the expense of ourselves. You see, putting yourself first doesn't mean that everyone else misses out. I used to think this, but it doesn't. Putting YOU first (your business, your alone time, your sales calls, your bookkeeping, heck, even your COFFEE!) doesn't mean that everything else is less of a priority. It just means that you are looking after YOU first and foremost so that everyone else gets the best out of you. I used to think that I was a bad mother if I spent more time on my work. I used to think I was a bad mentor if I wasn't available every day of the week. I used to think in order to be LIKED I had to do all of the things for all of the people. I learned the hard way that this is total BS! I made a commitment to make sure that I was honouring first and foremost what I need, and that everyone around me would be ok with this! This was a hard one for me. I used to think I'd lose clients for having a holiday! I used to think that I would have people defame me if I wasn't available after hours. What I've learned along the way is that the people I love working with are more than happy to work around most things. I'm not talking about taking advantage of this - and believe me, if I'm not available for whatever reason, I make sure that they're taken care of before and after I'm not available. Flexibility is the keyword here - on both sides. Honour thyself and uphold your personal boundaries. You've got this! Enjoy today's replay. I also shared some fun journal prompts for you to use.
